Of Messiaen’s ‘Vingt Regards sur l’Enfant Jesus Christ’: “Her no 19, ‘Je dors Mai’s Mon Coeur veille’ was a remarkable distillation of poetic beauty. In a performance serenely calm and sustained, time stood still. It provided the perfect foil for ‘Regard de l’eglise d’amour’ which was a true outpouring of devotional love”. David Barmby.
